Hyderabad: In light of the State government’s vision to make Telangana Police a citizen-friendly department, Cyber Cell Rachakonda initiated social awareness programs pertaining to cyber crimes under the guidance of Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh M Bhagwat, with the support of the ‘End Now’ foundation run by Anil Rachamalla.
An awareness session, which saw over 500 students, was conducted in Gurunanak Institute of Engineering Technology, Ibrahimpatnam.
Bhagwat addressed students on problems faced by women regularly through social media such as cyber bulling, cyber stalking, impersonation and voyeurism. He also gave them suggestions to overcome the problems faced by them on social media, apart from tips on avoiding job frauds.
Anil Rachamalla gave a powerpoint presentation on cyber bulling and cyber stalking and gave tips to students to safeguard their personal information and data from getting stolen by fraudsters.
The students were also sensitized with some practical case studies related to Facebook, job frauds and other cyber offenses.
